October 18, 2018 Tonight at 12:01 California time, the iPhone XR goes on sale for pre-orders. This phone is very similar in practice to the iPhone XS that you can already buy, but it's got a few huge benefits: it's way cheaper, comes in lots of colors, and has better battery life. The only drawback is really that the screen is LCD instead of OLED, but for daily use, it's not a huge deal. The iPhone XR is definitely the phone that we'd recommend for most people, and a couple of us are going to be staying up to pre-order one tonight. Microsoft has started pushing builds to Windows Insiders for the next version of Windows, coming in Spring 2019.
