Technical guidelines

Beginning September 1, 2015, Amazon no longer accepts Flash ads on Amazon.com, AAP, and various IAB standard placements across owned and operated domains.
This is driven by recent browser setting updates from Google Chrome, and existing browser settings from Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari, that limits Flash content displayed on web pages. This change ensures customers continue to have a positive, consistent experience across Amazon and its affiliates, and that ads displayed across the site function properly for optimal performance.

Amazon stops accepting Flash ads. Hopefully this trend will continue.

96.8 percent of new smartphones sold are either iPhone or Android devices

Out of 329 million recorded phone sales over the past three months, 319 million ran either Google’s Android operating system or Apple’s iOS alternative. That represents 96.8 percent of the market, matching the first quarter of this year for the highest proportion controlled by the two biggest platforms. The present smartphone market is, for all intents and purposes, just these two American giants duking it out.

The “Personal Computer” is now a smartphone, not a laptop or desktop. And in this landscape, Microsoft has lost the war for operating system share. Sure, they are still fighting battles, but the war has already been won. Android dominates the low-end just as Windows once did, and Apple dominates the high end.
