The Pinwheel Of Death (a.k.a. Spinning Wheel Of Death or SPOD, Beach Ball Of Death or BBOD, Spinning Rainbow Of Death, etc.) is the Mac OS X equivalent of Windows' Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD). The Pinwheel Of Death can be the result of an application locking up, leading to force quitting the application or the result of a complete system lockup.
