Atomicity | |
Atomicity (a.k.a Atomic Transactions) is a database system feature where transactions/interactions must be all or nothing (fully happening or not happening at all). An example of Atomicity is a transfer of funds from bank account #1 to bank account #2. There are two operations: a withdrawal of funds from bank account #1 and applying them to bank account #2. The database in question remains consistent and no money is lost or created if either of the two operations fail. | |
